An Honest Review of Bars @ Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy & Patpong.
At the entrance of Soi Cowboy Bangkok is the Country Road Bar with a large bar out front. There are a few flat screen TV’s which should have the football on and usually gets quite busy. You can order food Thai or Western which they get from Sam’s 2000 Bar which did look good. A beer is 165 Baht a lady drink is 150 Baht. If you’re thinking of barfining one of the women then it’s 500 Baht. Sitting outside you will get hassled by a few of the bargirls wanting to join you for a drink. Some aren't very attractive so don't get sucked into buying a drink for someone that you don't want to spend some time with. The good news is when you go inside they seem to back off.
Country Road Bar Soi Cowboy
As you enter Country Road Bar they have a large area for playing pool on the RHS with four pool tables which are well spaced out. If you want to have a game it will cost you 20 Baht… normally who ever loses pays. There's about ten woman sitting around or playing pool. They are working as bargirls so you will have to pay a barfine if you want to leave with one of them before the bar closes at around 2 am.
On the LHS of Country Road they have a band playing non stop and are quite good with a good selection of songs. This area is the busiest and it does feel like any bar that plays live music… I could be in a pub in Australia! When you do go to other bars within Soi Cowboy you will know exactly where you are… Soi Cowboy Bangkok!
The Country Road Bar is a good bar to get away from it all. You can come in and have a game of pool, watch the live band and not get hassled by anyone. It’s always good to know that if you do get in the mood to hangout with one of the bargirls that they are more than happy to give you a bit of company for the evening. All night if that's what you are after.
Country Road Bar Soi Cowboy … 6/10.
